Our story

Beth Jacob North West (BJNW) is a respected and long-standing youth organization for girls, based in London. For over 60 years, we have proudly served the community, inspiring girls to find their voice and shape their future.

Our mission, vision and values

A place to GROW A place to BELONG

At the heart of our mission is to provide a warm, caring environment where girls can thrive and explore their potential in ways that aren’t available in traditional school settings. We offer exciting activities that keep girls engaged and entertained. We are committed to inclusivity and ensure all children, including those with special needs, can benefit from our programmes. 99% of our team are volunteers, offering their time and goodwill to enrich the lives of our girls.

Over the years, we've adapted to the needs of today's youth, proudly serving over 850 girls across 10 schools.

Our History

It all started many years ago...

1960

BJNW is born

What began as a small group of just seven girls meeting in a synagogue kitchen in Golders Green quickly grew into something much bigger. These humble beginnings laid the foundation for the thriving community we know today.

1967

A Home for BJNW

BJ moved into its first permanent home at 173 Golders Green Road. With a dedicated space, the membership expanded to 160 girls, creating a hub of friendship and belonging.

1988

First Summer Camp

The launch of our first residential camp, Yashar Summer Camp, marked a new chapter in creating lasting memories and connections for our girls outside the city.

1990

Growing Together

The Soro Felsenstien Hall was beautifully refurbished, and the BJNW House expanded on the ground floor to accommodate the growing needs of our members.

2025

Thriving at 800+ Members

Today, BJ proudly serves over 800 girls, continuing its legacy of empowering and inspiring the next generation with friendship, joy, and community at its heart.
